This area was a thriving shipyard from the 1870s through the 1930s, but fell on hard times. Most of the buildings are abandoned today, but there is talk of revitalizing the area. LOL. my friend had an office on the embarcadero across from 39. we used to eat there a lot, but you're right, it's tourist central. i miss living in the bay area.

Nice work. I am noticing lots of curved distortion in the wide angle area of the S100 though. I did LOTs of distortion correction in PhotoShop on the shots I posted. Yours seems to show the same at the edges of the frame. I guess getting a 24mm equivalent wide angle in such a small camera requires lots of compromises.
