I am looking for some feedback on these tripods from anyone that might have had/has both. I have been reading a lot of different post here and on the web and still undecided.

I am 6' tall and I have the following equipment:

5Dc gripped
24-105 f/4 is
70-200 f/4 is

I was originally looking at the Manfrotto 055xprob. I like the height of it and the way it opens (legs spread wide) The plus was the center column can rotate out I guess you would call it.

I just saw the Gioto MT9360 and it has a lot of the same features. I read that some say it is a better build.

As for weight wise I am not to worried about it as I do not take long hikes. I like to do landscapes and might venture into macro now that I have the 5D. I currently have a QSX 9502 TM.

As for ball heads that will be a later purchase. My wife wants to get me something for Christmas, just found out yesterday, so I am now looking to see which will be the better one to go for.

Thanks

Kevin

I have the manfrotto 055xprob, ive had it for a year now and I like it, its very study, heavy duty, easily adjustable, I find I use the center column pretty frequently (if you hang the camera way off to the side you may want a sand bag as it gets a little tipsy but that should be expected at that distance, rebel xsi, 430exII, and 24-70)
