Great shots! Just wondering what focusing mode you used on your 60d?
I've tried Ai Servio mode with some success.

I've been shotting my nephews' hockey games at ISO 2500 1/500 f3.2, but I can't seem to get the faces tack sharp. Any suggestions?

Thanks

With ISO up that high it's gonna be kinda tough to get a tack sharp image but all of these are shot in AI Servo with center point only. Give it a shot and see if that helps to use just the center point.

Great photos Drew, as always.

I love how in the pic of Eric Staal, no one in the crowd is actually looking at him...and HE HAS the puck. They all seem to be in some sort of daze, or are mesmerized by something else.

I can't wait to see a photo of yours with the puck actually "BULGING" the net, or better still, popping the water bottle off, while bulging the twine of the upper portion of the net. (Upstairs where dad stashes the Playboys!!) That will be sweet, and great timing.

Also would be great to see one of the goalies get a snow spray shower. Then pics also of the ensuing bruhaha that will likely follow. (Wussy goalies - can't take a nice, cooling, refreshing spray of snow.)

Love the reply! Gave me a chuckle but yea all of these shots will come in time and just gotta get that picture, it'll happen eventually. But I plan on shooting the Canes for a while so eventually I'll get it for ya!

Oh for sure, you'll get those shots. But yeah that pic of Eric Staal is hilarious. (the crowd not even paying attention to him I mean.) Esp the woman in the red in the lower right hand corner. She's like totally spaced out. (probably thinking of more ways to nag her husband.) Even in the next picture or so, she's still not paying attention to the action.

Oh and don't forget pics of the Hurricane's cheerleaders!! Close ups if you can!;)

Photographers do it in 1/1,000th of a second...but the memory lasts forever! ;)

Yes they are a popular item for photographers to shoot as well.
