Most people don't know or don't want to know anything about exposure settings. So having only two exposure modes is a bonus.

You have +/- EV compensation, and you can pick ISO, so there is enough options to get the shot you want in most situations.

And you can choose the best availabe light to shoot in ....another thing some choose to ignore

My wife is the Co-National Coordinator for American Association Maltese Rescue and frequently needs to shoot images or videos of our rescue dogs. She has been working with a hand me down Olympus C5050Z which is neither as small nor as simple to use as she would like.

I have a large collection of Canon DSLR cameras, L lenses and flashes so we didn't want or need to spend a small fortune on the P&S for my wife. I do most of the shooting for the Rescue Group...

After reviewing the capabilities (and reviews) of various P&S cameras, I decided that the ELPH 100 might be a good match for my wife. I placed an order at B&H in NYC and will have the camera for $129 with free shipping in less than a week! And, she really likes the hot pink color...

Dissenting opinion.....it's the 300HS for me!

That extra 4mm at the wide-angle end is incredibly useful....24mm rather than 28 makes for a great wide-angle lens, rather than a mediocre one.

Mine was $157 CDN at Futile Shop on Boxing Day.

Now if they both only had optical viewfinders.....

Cheers, del Sol

In Canada the lowest I've seen it is $140...

I just bought an ELPH 100 HS in Edmonton Alberta for $130 CDN. As it is extremely compact, I should never have an excuse to be without a camera.
