Hi - I just was wondering - are there any people using 24-70 f2.8 with a crop body - what is your experience?
Do you find it wide enough for your purposes?
Do you regret purchasing this beauty?
If so - WHY?

Is it "wide enough?" Depends on the conditions. I specifically got the 24-70 for tight indoor use where my 70-200 doesn't have enough room to work comfortably. SOSKIphoto

The crop body, however, will not record/display the entire image. Therefore, it will seem like the lens is longer than 24-70, but it's not.. this is quite mis-leading. On a crop body, this lens has a field of view that is less than on a full frame, but it records the entire image. 1DX, Gripped 60D,10-22mm, 18-135mm, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS, 24-70L, TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II, 100mm f2.8 Macro, 50mm f/1.4, 60mm 2/2.8 Macro, 580ex, 430EXII, Pocketwizards, Softbox, Tamron 1.4X TC, Canon 2x TC, GT3541LS, BH-55

JeffreyG "my bits and pieces are all hard" More info | Dec 26, 2011 17:26 | #9 I use the 24-70 at times on my 1.3X crop 1D Mark IV. It isn't wide enough, and I go back and forth between it and the 16-35 II which is more of a walkabout zoom on the 1D4. Truth is, neither range is perfect on 1.3X for a walkabout, and I think I might get a 1DX just for this reason. My personal stuff:http://www.flickr.com/photos/jngirbach/sets/

Ok, 2 out of 3..... There are a ton of threads on this, Rent one and decide Ok the crop camera will record the image it is capable of recording, but not the image the lens will provide to a larger sensor. Better? Cubdriver Goldmember More info | Dec 26, 2011 19:28 | #14 Bought one when I got my 10D in '04 and used it almost exclusively up until a year and a half or so ago when I started adding to the stable. It's still my workhorse, and I'm very happy with it. Smugmug site: http://pmanning.smugmug.com/
