Amazon is selling these for $1,224.95 (external link) which is cheaper than a used one in the for sale section.

I saw a couple offered for under $1000 yesterday, you may want to go back and look. As I recall they were both posted around the same time.

Yeah, I think one was $950 and the other was under $900 ($850?)

Use Mr. Rebates and the net cost is under $1150.

Since the spectacular deals on the 2.8 IS II the market is flooded with the various 70-200 models and I have seen the 2.8 non-IS as low as $800 the last week or so.

If not for the added weight i would sell my F4 and jump on this.

I don't know how anyone could even justify asking $1200 for a used one at this point in time. Judging by the previous price history this lens could be down to $1100 by next month. Once the stores restock it might even start to creep lower until the stock runs dry.
