Hi folks,

I currently have a Canon 40D with 18-55 and 70-200 (as shown in my signature). I am finding that for the most part, the equipment just sits in the bag on the shelf as I find it a nuisance to pull it all out, attach lenses, etc.

So, that being said, I am trying to find out which type of camera would be a good replacement for my 40D. I would like it to have at least 10-12 mega pixels, super zoom, manual as well as automatic control, and HD video would be a bonus. Crisp, clear images is a must and would prefer RAW as well as JPEG. I would like to have something that I can just grab and go. I had an S3 IS before and like it.

I like Canon and have had excellent luck with them, but I would consider other cameras if the reviews on them are good.

Thanks in advance...
Al

Canon SX40HS is Canon's superzoom and I have heard good things about it. The only thing is it does not do RAW.

I have long thought that a point-and-shoot is a very important part of a kit and try to always carry my waterproof Lumix at times when the 7D is too bulky. But recently I bought the Fujifilm X10 and am thinking that it's more than just a more compact alternative, it takes the place of a second body and a couple of my lenses.

Replacing my Canon 7D, Tokina 12-24mm, Canon 17-55mm, Sigma 30mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4, and 150-500mm with a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000. I still have the 17-55 and the 30 available for sale.

I would suggest also a micro four thirds system (i.e. olympus pen and the like), the olympus xz1 or the lumix lx5.
