Was thinking about upgrading and out of pocket figure I would have to pay about 5-600$ to get 5D mark ii refurbished with a 50mm 1.4 after selling my current gear minus the 430 ex ii.
In your opinion with the right settings, is IQ going to be miles apart or should I just keep working with the T1i and 35L? I mostly take photos of my toddler and we also have one on the way and super sharp photos is what I strive for...35mm Focal length on my T1i works really well for me so a 50 on FF should work just fine..
Thanks for looking.

keep the 35L, and get the 5Dc instead, a better combo for the same budget.

I was actually thinking about that...there is one on craigslist who's asking $825 in my area

I have 500D and 5Dc. Using Rebel if I need it light and video.
Using 5Dc for kids portraits. Nice to have both.
5Dc works perfect with any EF lens I have and 430ex II, images are sharp and film like.

Σ is the Greek letter Sigma. They are referring to the Sigma 50mm.

I don't use the video very often, I thought I would but I don't. I could always use my canon point and shoot to do video if needed....I really want a camera for super sharp portraits of my son and daughter who is on the way.

Since you have the T1i and mark ii, Do you think I should keep the 35L and get the 5D classic or start over and get the 5d mark ii and 50mm 1.4? Is the IQ that MUCH better on a FF in your experience with the two? thanks

5Dc will do it.
Once kids are getting older it is nice to take their video as well. I'm not using it often but I like to use 500D for it.

I purchased the 5dII a week ago, havent had a chance to really use it yet. Few shots I have taken are noticably higher IQ then my t1i and blow it away better in low light. My main interest is landscape so full frame gives me larger field of view and higher IQ.

The 5dII is not a replacement for my t1i, it is a companion to it, but I will be upgrading the t1i to a 7d in the next few months to cover my second main interest, wildlife. The 7d will give me a little more perceived length and speed.
