It appears Canonrumors.com has a very good reason to believe the 5D III will be announced this spring. No specs yet, but their CR2 rating is as good as it gets before it's actually announced. Get ready all you 5D fan boys!

p.s. If you just want to come into this thread to leave some smug smart remark, save it. We all know the 5D III topic is about as volatile as another 5DII vs 7D conversation.

Hope some real specs leak before then. :)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Haha.

Anywho, I have no doubt that it'll be announced soon. I just pulled the trigger on my 5d2. ?!

If I can use it for 6 months and sell it for only a $400 loser that's not so bad I suppose.

I guarantee that 5D2 will still take stellar photos in 6 months and beyond. ;)

No plans to get rid of my 8 year old 1DsII, as it still takes breathtaking photos.

Yeah -- honestly, when I got it I was a little iffy due to all the hate on the intarwebs. True, when it's REALLY dark the outer focus points are pretty useless, but that's really it and that's not that big of a deal to me. Otherwise, I'm blown away. Really happy w/ my purchase. The bundled software deal at B&H is fun as well!

I don't find the outer points useless, but I am interested to see the specs on the 5d3.

I was talking about low light. Anywhere where I need to shoot 1600 ISO or higher and I have to use the middle point.

I'm sure we'll see the slow leaking of specs, they'll want to prime the purchasing pump.
