I will be traveling to Colorado next week and want to get some daytime long exposures of creeks, water, etc. To do this, I would need a ND filter, correct?
Any recommendations? It appears that there are quite a few options to chose from...

Different ND filters have different exposure adjustments. This one is 9 stops worth. So if you're doing a landscape and you want to shoot at f16 at iso 100 in daylight your looking at roughly 8 seconds with this filter. That's great for something where you want that realy smooth water effect. But if you were wanting to use it to knock down the sunlight to a fill so you can use your flash as the key light on outdoor portraits, it could cause problems. Since all my L zooms have a 77mm filter thread I just buy and use B+W ND Filters. Typically the 3, 6, and 10 stop ones are the most popular. [Gear List | Flickr
