Meglet, love this one. I live in NYC and still have not had the chance to visit the Statue of Liberty as an adult. Its going to be on my to do list this summer.

Thanks. I was worried because we were out on a harbor tour, and shooting into the sun, but we ended up coming around and I have some fantastic photos of the statue. I like this one for the sense of scale and scene, but the one I plan to print is simply the statue against the blue sky. And after 2 trips to NYC, I haven't been to the statue yet, only around it on a boat.

Hey guys, I going to have a great opportunity to go to Las Vegas in Feb. I plan to visit the Grand Canyon from there. I plan on taking my tripod with me. Does anyone know if I can take it as carry on with me? With the Grand Canyon I was planning to take one of those bus tours there, has anyone taken that before? What else scenic is out there I can photography? I am planning on taking my 10-22, 17-55, and 70-200 is that suffice? TIA

I took the 10-22 and the 17-55 on my trip to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. I ended up primarily using the 17-55 even at the Grand Canyon. Here's the link to my GrandCanyon Flickr set with a few shots so you can get an idea how it worked out http://www.flickr.com …c/sets/72157627623795028/ (external link)
I can see how the 10-22 could be of use but I wanted to capture a little more detail than overall expanse. We didn't take the bus tour but we took a bus out to one of the points for sunset. I put my tripod in my large bag that I checked, not sure about carry on.
Happy New Year!

Nice job. Reminds me of the crazy midnight fireworks January 1, 2011.

Happy New Year!

Wow awesome pictures. Was this the West or East Rim? Trying to figure out which one has better views. I am kinda of leaning toward the West Rim as it has the Skywalk.

Happy New Years fellow 60Der's!!!!!

Don't you guys think that fireworks celebrations are overrated to welcome the new year?

Where I live, it's beer and firearms, not fireworks, that bring in the new year.

This place sounds like a warzone on the 4th of July and the 1st of the year.

but I live out in the boonies :D

I'm going to start a 52 project. With a heavy work schedule (60 hour weeks) I don't have the time to do a 365. I'm wondering where the best place to keep everything would be? I really don't like Flickr. I think the site is poorly designed and a mess. I would have thought for one of the more popular image hosting sites it might have a more aesthetically pleasing look to it.

I was thinking maybe Tumblr or a wordpress blog. What do you all use?

I'm doing a 365 and will probably use my smugmug account to house my 365 collection but will 'try' to post on POTN daily if I can shoot, process and upload. If not, I'll post as I upload.

A wordpress blog would work also and give you a URL to use to post here.

These are old, but I figured I'd share anyway since we were on the topic of fireworks. :)
