Funny you post this -- I knew what that machine was from this picture alone. :D

 okay you got me there...

I didn't mean that I knew it was a "bulldozer" or a Caterpillar... I'd go as far as guessing that the model number is a 953B.

As I've stated several times in various threads, the most popular handgun in the world, the Glock 17, has a polycarbonate body. When I was in the army in the 1970's my M16's body was made out of engineered plastic. If those same parts had been made from magnesium, they would have cracked and dented more easily. In a discussion with my my brother who is a physicist but knows nothing of cameras, he was surprised that anyone would want a camera with a thin brittle magnesium body over one made of polycarbonate.

Have you ever seen magnesium burn? Pretty impressive!

I just looked at your website. Very nice work. Very vibrant use of color. Do you ever use monochrome?

Nope, never! The closest I get to monochrome is when I reduce the saturation by 80~90% and warm up the high tones. Gives a great sepia feel.

That's the size of my living room!...

I will not say I'll trade you... :p

He, the studio isn't always up, it's also in our living room. Gotta pack all that after each photo shoot.

Yeah I have 430EX, another Manual Flash, triggers, umbrella and stand; but could never get the power settings to groove. So that is why I was leaning towards continuous.

Now that I have the 60d, it can control the 430ex, I used it the other day and its night and day difference on me shooting manually. Maybe i need to look into getting a 580 or the new 600EX.

What do you mean there? Ask questions here and we'll help!

Thankfully these are a magnesium alloy that is much more firm and less prone to bursting into white hot flame of death. Pure magnesium is very soft.

I got a PM from a user here. He wants to know what it that ''Tile board". I'll show it to everyone instead of him only, might help more than one.

Here's a full body shot on white seamless, without tile board:

And another full body shot, this time with the tile board:

It's all in the reflection. It ''grounds'' the model in the picture and gives a very clean look.

Hahaha, after re-reading what I typed, it doesn't make much sense!

What I was trying to say is that I have a strobe setup, but have not gotten very far because of the learning curve. I am used to the ETTL doing the work. I have cheapo radio triggers so I have had problems getting the right power level and distance. This being with the old 20D.

Now that i have the 60D, i have started to play with the wireless functions on it. I used the 430EX and I seem to be getting better results. I want to start playing with it more.

Lighting gear:

1 430EX
1 Lumopro 120
1 set of Cactus v4 recievers
1 light stand and umbrella
1 33 meter ETTL cord

What I really need to do is spend a day using the crap and see what happens. Good or bad, I will learn something!

Ended up down near Seattle Center for work today, and fortunately the coworker with me didn't mind me stopping for pics. I only had time to finish up one tonight, but thanks to the nice weather the Space Needle looked pretty cool today:

Yes, that was my PM - I had no idea what tile or puc boards were... I see what they do but still don't know what they are unless it's really the hockey glass Google found for me.

I do a copy, flip vertical on a new layer and move opacity to a low percentage to get the same effect. The tile would make it easier though if the image proves difficult to line up on the vertically flipped layer.
