Nice David! On both counts. How do you like the natural light? Anyways, tonnes of images to edit. I have one done from my 5d + 21mm and will post because I know most don't mind.

I was testing the Auto Light Optimizer. Didn't like it...

Did you used TV mode in here?

I wondered why your first 2 pics ISO are way high when you're in F8 and the shutterspeed 1/800 and 1/1000 respectively. For that situation I guess 1/320 and F5.6 is good enough then lower the ISO speed a much as you can.

Pictures are also way too sharp. could hurt someone's eyes.

hope you won't mind, just a CC.

I was shooting some candids before and at 1/500 I was getting a little motion blur, so I started upping the SS.

f8 is the sharpest aperture for the lens.

It doesn't bother me to get the high ISO, as long as it is correctly exposed.

The ALO is what throws these pictures off (along with increased saturation mode, as I am experimenting with these).

In post processing, I raise the sharpness as long as I don't see halos. This is the way I like it.

Normally you would see well balanced/saturated photos, but I am playing with the pre-sets in the 60D, just to become familiar with what to expect.

Edit: Vincent, you have to understand that for candid/street shots, I set the aperture/shutter speed in M and then shoot AutoISO, so I don't bother much with settings between shots. I just keep an eye that the exposure indicator is centered in every shot. If it goes left or right, it's time to re-evaluate the M settings.

By all means, I don't mind CC. I learn from other people's CCs either for my photos or somebody else's.

I was hovering around this lady to take a photo off the hat trying to be incospicuous... That's where the fast SS comes handy. Bang, bang!;)

I am a bit self conscious when I take photos of people in the street...

So, when this gentleman noticed, I took the opportunity to talk to him. He's a pro photographer, on a busman's holiday. Shooting with his home-made pinhole camera. 45 sec exposure!

Maybe just add a little power of flash making sure it won't defeat the ambient light JUST to create a catchlight on my roxanne's eyes.

I think she's also almost in the center. off a little bit more would be nice. just me.
