I'd go with the Impreza, Subaru's have great AWD in the winter and they tend to hold up better the VW usually.

GTI 2007 for sure. I am on my fourth one going all the way back to 1992, 1996, 1999 and 2008. You will love it. Either 6 speed or DSG, they are great cars.

Kind regards,
Dimitri

Insurance! It costs me about $10 per 1000 insured through State Farm, which also has my home owners and auto policies.

What good is your camera if you are afraid to take it places? Where in the city are you going?

I've been thinking about calling about insurance, I have State Farm as well and I've heard it's easy and inexpensive to add to home owners policy. So it covers theft, does it cover accidents while traveling? Like, God I hope not...but if I drop my 60D with 70-200 attached?

Subaru makes some great cars.

And I shouldn't be giving VW crap. I have a Chevy truck and a Pontiac car.

/wife is smart, she has a Nissan

Nothing wrong with a Chevy truck!

GTI over the non turbo Subaru any day of the week. Way more fun to drive and just a better all around car stock vs stock for a non car enthusiest. But now if you said WRX vs GTI and you planned on actually building to my standards... then no contest, WRX...

To each his own - 5 years, 70,000 miles, zero repairs.

Awesome shots! Is that "hazy" look directly from your camera, or is it a post-processing effect? It looks really great!

I just sold my T3i body, and have a 60D on the way! I am excited for the new body...!

Any suggestions for a screen protector? I had a GGS glass screen protector for the T3i, but after putting it on I couldn't "close" the swivel screen properly because the glass was too thick. I'm thinking of just getting this one from Amazon (external link).

Thanks, some of them are like that directly from the camera and others have post process :)

2 year old GMC Acadia here - 18,000 miles and harness shorted out leaving my family stranded in the middle of the desert heat (104*). Wasnt the first domestic to give me issues. (03 cobra, 05 Vue/Equinox) Went with Lexus/Acura ever since. Owned VW, Audi and BMW and all have had several electrical issues as well. Our play cars are ever changing, but then again they are only driven to shows/track events. But Ive pretty much written off American cars for lack of over all value for the price and also reliability. And the Euro's for high maintenance costs as well as electrical issues.
