Well the 5D3 sure is in another league. We're talking 60D vs the new best full frame on the market.

But the 70-200 is still Canon's sharpest zoom lens.

What's your lens list, I could help you with the decision ;)

haha currently have a modest collection of: 24-105L, 100L Macro, Tokina 11-16, Sigma 30 1.4, Sigma 50 1.4

so yes, deep down i know i need a 70-200 (and definitely a Sigma 85 1.4 too lol)

Yup, I'd go for the 70-200 first. Your 30 and 11-16 won't fit a 5D3. I'd sell the 50 for a 85 also.

yea original plan IF i go with 5D3 was to sell the 30 and 11-16 and pick up a 17-40L for my landscape stuff...but yea when the time comes i think it will be a 70-200

David, I think I've heard you a couple of times saying that the 70-200 MkII is better than the primes? (135L ? 85 non L?)?
