I can spend up to that $1350 spot... and as you mentioned, I can pick up the body only and the 18-55 and 55-250 for that $350.... so it's a wash. I didn't realize those two lenses had better quality than either the 18-135 or the 18-200 lenses.
I've been reading these forums for over a year now but I was hoping I would be able to afford the best glass. I have some things in the works but it looks like they'll take a bit longer than I'd hoped and I want to get started with a DSLR. Based on my hopes, I have researched the L lenses and know next to nothing about the less expensive Canon offerings or those from 3rd party companies.
Did you have another suggestion for the body and a better lens for around $1350?
Just joined the 60D club by picking up the body, 18-55 and the 55-250 for $1240. It's my first DSLR. I am on a budget too, and based my lens decision on reviews at : http://www.photozone.de/canon-eos
