Wow, thanks everyone for your comments! I thought it was an ordinary shot, but I'm glad you like it!

Jeremy, I got a mk5 07, just chipped it Unitronic Stage 1+ a month ago. Very nice performance increase!

Yours is practically the same as mine.. 08 Candy White 6spd. I put the RNS510 in mine.. best upgrade ever :)

Here's a few of my first efforts, mostly straight from the camera, just a touch of PP on a couple of them. Didn't know the models but greatly appreciated their cooperation. A bit of cropping would help some of them and I still have to get used to having this much control over DOF. Using the 60D is a lot like shooting 35mm again. So far I'm bowled over by the results i'm getting and think eventually I'll get the hang of this this thing.

And my goal for shooting this afternoon is to get a handle on back-button focusing. Hopefully a mix of concert shots and some bicycle racing.

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

Hi all! Got my brand new 60D a few days ago and really pleased with it! Coming from xxxD series, it's bigger (better in my hands) and feels much more sturdy. Couldn't justify the 7D for my type of photography or money....the 60D gets it done in all way.

Hey King; welcome to the thread. The 60D is a great camera and definitely will match the 7D in image quality. We're anxious to see some of your shots.

Trying to catch up on a weeks worth of activity on this thread is quite a task!

Great contributions and captures everyone!

I've been visiting Sandhill cranes, bluebirds, botanical gardens, and our local swans have started hatching. Various snaps on the way ~

A sandhill crane family invaded oodles of redwing blackbird nests. Mom was feeding junior. The redwing blackbirds were out-of-their-minds as each nest was raided. At one point about 8 males were fluttering around mom and landing on her but it didn't usually bother her.
