@Vinz: Actually, you are developing your own style, and I like it!

@AlexTakesPhotos: Time to change your nick...'AlexTakesGorgeousPhotos'. Normally I don't like the PP style in the color photo, but this one is captivating!

@BurnUnit: Clay welcome and enjoy your camera! (Hint: The minimum safe speed is 1/(Focal_Length x 1.6)... You will gain some sharpness in your photos (like in No.2 and No. 4). I like the flower photo.

@ Immaculens: I like them all!...

Thanks Mike - we were really witnessing Nature in action... 'video' would have been great during the height of the spectacle but I did get a few clips after it died down ~

So, I decided to buy an adapter so I could use my old FD lenses ( 50 mm 1.8, 28 mm 2.8 and 70-150 mm ) with my 60D. Here is one of my first pics.
Call me crazy but I love the fact that I have to use manual focus and aperture. Also the tonality that I get from these lenses is almost nostalgic.
Anyone else using their old lenses with the DSLR?

A pair of bluebirds nested -feeding their 5 babies. Now I know I need a shutter higher than 2000 and 2500 to freeze their wings... yeash!

sometimes the lighting was less than ideal but I love bluebirds...

William,

I work weekends and Mondays so I wasn't able to comment on your posts as they arrived. I have to say... your first post, the looking up shot of the flowers (third photograph) is amazing. I see you shot it with your 15-85. All the other ones are great also... but your photos are always well done.

On a happy note, I ended up ordering the 70-300L yesterday so I'd get the order in before the price goes back up on June 2nd. Now the wait. It has shipped but with this being a holiday weekend, who knows when it will arrive.

Welcome to all the newcomers. This is a great group of people. Don't be afraid to ask any question... there is a wealth of information from the people who have been around longer. I'm a newbie here myself.

r

do you sharpen your images any? i think it would benefit from selective sharpening and a slight up in the saturation and contrast - though i dont have any experience with shooting wildlife - its just my take on it

and your watermark is a tiny bit distracting - maybe use a different font and make it smaller - unless you are actually using it as a watermark - for me i usually just use watermarks when i want people to know who has taken the photo but i add it subtly faded in the background somewhere

not trying to pick on you or anything i just think it'll make the images just a tiny bit better!
