Well I am on vacation so I am done shooting the Canes till the new year and here's the last shots I have until then. As always thanks for looking and feel free to C&C. It's the only way I will improve other than practicing!

Thanks for looking, rough game for me pictures wise. Players liked to go away from me the whole time so it wasn't always at my hole. Did the best I could and thats all I can do right?

I can't add much since I'm still new at this, but I LOVE the colors and how well they pop.

#1 is awesome, the bokeh from the crowd is outstanding, makes me wish the AHL games I shoot were better attended!

The framing on #3 could be better if you shifted the #8 Devils player to the right and not cut off Ward's blocker, but I've been there... its really easy to comment about that after the fact, rather than while trying to track the action! I'd say a little of the same in #2 possibly, but it looks like a player in the foreground may have made that harder.

#4 is excellent. Quality shot.

Personally, I think there are a number of outstanding images in the game gallery that would be worthy of being thrown up here too. Even if you thought it was a rough game photo-wise, the images that you were able to take out of it are still top notch, even if there was no "spectacular" moments captured from the game.

edit: one other suggestion, which I'm not sure if you have the option on the 60D, and if it does, you may already be doing it, is the ability to not only use the back-button for focusing, but does it allow you to use the button next to the AF to alternate to a 2nd AF point? Typically for shooting from the side, I have the main AF point set out towards the neutral zone and can alternate to the center AF point when necessary, offering 2 framing options on the fly without having to go in and change the AF point location. Just food for though, not sure if the 60D allows it like the 1D?

I will have to look into that. I am using the back button to focus on the center point but it would be nice to not have to have the player centered on say a break away or something like that and still be able to get focus.

About #3 I have the picture in the sequence right before that one do I'll get it up on here tonight and you can let me know if you like it better.

You got to see one hell of a game. I wasn't there shooting because I am actually on vacation to go see the canes play in Tampa. I actually get to be a fan for a game!

Love hearing "whaler canes" I wish we would wear classic whaler jerseys every now and then. Like baseball does.

I am just wondering, how do you get access to the holes? Are you hired or do you buy a ticket near them, it would be cool to photograph a game

I work for hurricanesbeat.com and I am credentialed to shoot on their behalf to get images for their website and articles. No other way to get access to a hole.
