Took these from the Kayak last summer. All hand held with the Canon 7D and the canon 400mm f5.6.

Very nice. I have not taken my camera out on the kayak yet. Just got a pelican case for Christmas for that purpose. Looking forward to trying some kayak photography in the spring.

Great pics. Hand held too. That is not easy with such a big lens. What shutter speeds were these at?

Thank you. There's a lot of kingfishers on the 2 rivers that I go on around where I live. Its so darn hard getting close enough to get a shot of them though.

Thanks. These were between 1/1600 and 1/2000 of a second. The river was moving pretty fast this summer so I had to keep the shutter speed up

You got to be one steady-handed Dude, Troy! On the water w/ a long heavy lens hand held-incredible!! Extremely well done.

All three shots are great, but the Kingfisher just rocks! Wish I had the nerve to carry my 7D and 400L in a kayak, but I'm afraid of dropping them in the water!
