Higgs already made his decision, it took all of 1 hour to ship off $4400 for a camera. He should have it already, I believe. I am to blame if he doesn't like it, so I am told.

Yes I received it. Report so far, shutter sound is wicked cool. Lol. However, I've traveled, it's new years eve and my only goal tonight is to avoid having my picture taken.....

I'm away from my editing computer but I have my cameras. I'll shoot a few frames I'm sure at some point while Im still seeing single.

I've been known to leave my cameras (two 5dc) places unknown while leaving the place unbeknownst to myself.....I may leave the 1D in a secure location where I can't find it before I leave the house.

I received it overnight but it had no eyepiece but I picked that up locally. I'm pretty pumped to have it, ready to start shooting with it....my first kart race of 2012 is jan 8 so I should be able to shoot it plenty between my heats. As long as my kart stays together.

Not too happy with some of my shots at the game last night, was at 8000-12800. I am going to have to get the MKII 70-200 I think.

A couple samples, the one was amusing, the short coach was getting in his player's face!

6 months warranty on everything graded V, D, E+, E & E- (90 days on everything else), which includes a 30-day returns period.

The only time I use anyone other than Adorama is if they are out of stock/backorder situation and I need something right away. Go ahead and HIT that button!

I am thnking that your problem might be in your post processing image management rather tan in the IQ of the camera...

Maybe. But probably not. For a lot of the reasons posted further along up there ^. Believe it or not, a massive difference in sensor size and pixel density makes a pretty big difference in image quality.

Software and processing also make big differences in final product as well. I am unsure what percentage hardware plays vs software (firmware in camera, post proc. tools and technique). My opinion it is about 65/35 (hardware to software/firmware & processing techniques).

Nope. Lightroom 3 and CS5 make PP very easy. Just less easy on the 7D. I owned the 7D for a year and processed two or three images from it.....I did take 5 minutes to scratch my butt between images though so that probably added to the time..... I can get the 7D files to look nice on the web, but they didn't print nearly as nicely as the 5dc's I had or the 5dii.....

I agree. If you open a 7d file and a 5d file in LR you can't miss the difference. You can take a file only so far and where you start plays a large role in where you end. Files aren't people. You can't motivate a file.

I have taken nearly 10K shots with 2 7Ds, most at high ISOs. I really never had issues provided I had the camera set up and exposure nailed. ETTR was key. I would just run 1 action on each file, and most of the time, the results were good. I would say about 60% that I shot was at ISO 3200 or higher. But hey, the 7D wasn't quite for you, let's see what you think about the 1D4.
