going back to last year, for those of you who like our birds. These galahs were on a playing field down the road from me, and I had a lot of fun with them over a few trips. They are extremely comical, and love to play, rolling over and doing funny stances. I didn't get the chance to look this year, except the other day, but the playing field is all ploughed up, probably because of the floods from early this year, but I hope it means they will be returfing. It was at least 8 metres under!

Heh Heh, those are great shots cat, the one rolling over is great, it is still bringing a smile to me, Thanks. Quite beautiful birds they are, do they ever get in the trees or some kind of perch? They would make for some beautiful portraits.
Well done!

Great shots Tina, they're such beautiful birds. I sure wish they were flying around wild over here.

They look like they could occupy a photgrapher for hours w/their antics Tina; and what a blast to shoot. Your shots certainly capture some of the "spcial character" of these guys.

thankyou everyone for your lovely comments, glad they made you smile!
Bret, yes, they are in trees etc, but they feed of the grass seeds, which is why they were on the ground. And yes, I spent hours with them, so much fun.
happy new year everyone!

Fantastic series Tina. I'm SO envious of the beautiful species you have there and these make me miss our pet Galah Petey, who has found a new home now. We also had a Crimson Rosella years ago, another beautiful bird from the Aussie gene pool.

Happy New Year, I hope it's filled with great photo ops.
