Hi,
I'm in the middle of updating Photoshop from Cs2 to Cs5.
I have a Ps book for Cs2 and know my way around pretty well but thought would I need to update my Cs2 book to a more relevent Cs5 book?

Has anyone done this? and was it worth it?

Biggest difference is the user interface & keyboard shortcuts.

This is about PSCS4, where the change happened:

There are new features as well.
If you register PSCS5, you'll have the option to choose 30 days free subscription to lynda.com

Use that to view Deke McClelland One-on-one series, and you'll be all set.
