I went out this morning to take my first batch of landscapes with my new 5DII and like a idiot, I messed it up. I had some live view settings that changed my ISO to 6400 for every shot(despite what I selected with live view off) so that messed up some, but I know what to change now. And, even more like a dolt, I was using live view to focus without pressing the DOF preview button so I ended up with a ton of OOF shots.

But, I did take this one thru the viewfinder at hyperfocal distance like I used to do with my 5D and got at least one decent image out of the deal. Live and learn I guess...wheres the face palm smiley?

Nice shot!
Looks like the Lake Superior is not frozen yet !? I used to go icefishing and shot the ice floating on Detroit River and frozen Lake Erie /Huron at this time of the year. Something must be wrong with the weather.

This particular area never freezes solid - ice flows in and out with the current. But, it has been far warmer than usual - the weather is certainly odd.

The second one is beautiful. LK Superior is a special place. Nice to see it in the winter.
