Hey all. Happy New Year!
I had a photo shoot with a family on the slopes yesterday. Here is the shot that they would like a 20x30 thin wrap print of. Most of the time I shoot sports like skiing and football, but they asked me to shoot their family portrait on the slopes.

This was shot with my 7D and 24-105L. The finished (as of now) image was processed in PS CS5 and the final sharpening was USM at 200%, 1.0 pixel, 0 threshold. Final file size is 11.8 megs.

Anything you all think I need to do before it goes to print? The client told me they have quite a few friends that want to have a session with me and I just want this to turn out perfectly. Thanks!

I think its great. The two "high-liters" in the middle are bright. LOL.

An inexperience question. Will the dads knee get cut off if they frame it? Not sure if that's an issue at the size you're going for.

They pop for sure! I saw what they had on and was like this is gonna be fun. The print I'm doing is a canvas wrap that will not have a frame so I'm not too worried about that. I'm actually trying to get them to get a metal print. The ones that use a sheet of aluminum instead of paper. They are unreal! I just want it to be sharp.

I think it's plenty sharp. That 24-105 is working well for you.

I would tone the teeth whitening down a little bit. Great job

Its a great lens. I almost got the 24-70 like you have, but traded the 2.8 for IS and overlap with my 70-200. Looks like I have a ton of shooting this winter and I hope to fund a couple lenses with the money. Got a huge team photo shoot at the end of january. I might need to build my own battery system for that.

Thanks. I thought they were fine in the original, but she asked to whiten them. I hardly touched them up but I do agree with you.

The snow looks a little blue/grey on my monitor. I copied it, opened in camera raw and clicked the WB eye-dropper on the snow in the sunlight on the lady's right. This was the result. I think it warms it up a little. (I'd tone the teeth down a little too although they look better in the warmer image).

Thanks, but I can't take much credit for it since I let the program make the WB correction.

I like it much better. The little girls teeth in the green vest still look a little too white, but Mom looks good.

I think it came out good. When I first looked at the image the teeth grabbed my attention first. I would just make sure the teeth don't stand out so much. but good image
