For a long time a just had the one main battery and a spare. That worked fine for a quite some time and was perfectly adequate .Thanks a lot and hello | Canon EOS | and some canon lenses

I've never been in a situation, when I had my T2i to ever need two batteries even though I had a third party brand. However, I also make sure to have the battery charged when I plan to photo events or something. But if it doesn't hurt your wallet, you might as well get a spare. Jan 01, 2012 16:10 | #14 When I do any video on T2i I definitely need a grip with 2 batteries. Don't think T3i is different. If you don't take video you may get away with one, but why have to ? Ex-Canon shooter. Now Sony Nex.
