Well, how often do you use it? How many pictures do you take when you do? Have you found that one battery isn't enough? Seems like a silly question to me.

I've only ever needed one battery. I've never actually ran out of juice.

I did just purchase a grip and 2 generic batteries, though.

Hello Molten and welcome to POTN :D.

I'm not a fan of grips but that's just me and I know a lot of folks enjoy them and like their functionality. For a long time a just had the one main battery and a spare. That worked fine for a quite some time and was perfectly adequate ;).

I carry two, one in the camera, one in my bag. If I'm using a gripped body, then I have to carry a couple.

Always 2 unless you're going to shoot video. Video eats batteries.

1 battery. I've never been in a situation, when I had my T2i to ever need two batteries even though I had a third party brand. However, I also make sure to have the battery charged when I plan to photo events or something. But if it doesn't hurt your wallet, you might as well get a spare. It never hurts to be safe than sorry.

You got rid of the 5D or is this a second body?

How many bodies have you had now?

Anyway I have 1 spare on me with my 60D.

When I do any video on T2i I definitely need a grip with 2 batteries. Don't think T3i is different. If you don't take video you may get away with one, but why have to ?

If you're in States, a decent 3rd party grip can be bought for $30-40 on Amazon. I've had one for year and a half and it's great. An added advantage is the much better ergonomics, especially in Portrait orientation. I don't trust some random batteries from eBay but Sterlingtec and Diamondback are very reputable 3-rd party battery companies and they are only $15 or so. I've had Sterlingtec on my XTi for 2 years, and Diamondback on T2i for almost two years now, and the performance is on par with OEM batteries.

So a 2nd battery and a grip will run you about $50. Definitely go for it.

Now i had only the T3i
Its an easy camera just for me as a beginner and i love it so much and im sure that i will not buy other bodies any more , i will buy only some good lenses for it like the 60 mm macro and the 15-85 mm and the 70-300 IS ( not L )
already had the 50mm 1.4 and the 18-55 and the 55-250
i think that enough for me

and thanks for the advice i will buy another battery for the T3i
