I'm marking my calendar now just to keep track of the # of days that pass before you, Mod Mo (...may I call you that?) acquire your next L lens

I think you guys should start a pool and when I win, you can send me the $$$ to buy the next lens I want. :):)

I haven't bought a lens since last May, BTW.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

I might just have to paint a red stripe on my primes and pretend that they're "L" lenses. After all, aren't the 50mm f1.4 and the 100mm f2 like L's without the L? Someone please say "YES." I keep telling myself this so I don't spend more. L temptation is wide spread.

Yeah Yeah Yeah
I can see it now. We set-up a pool...everything is going fine, then along comes that SOB (Sweet Old Bear :)) Skip and buys you an "L" lens.

You win, we lose. :) :)

I just got the 70-200 f4L last week and I'm very happy with it. The jump in both price and size for the 2.8 was too much for me. Also my main use for this lens is shooting RC planes, plenty of light! I shot a bunch of pictures this past Saturday at our flying field and was VERY pleased with the results.

He better not... he is under strict orders from me not to buy any lenses without my permission.

Tough cookie, aren't I?

It must be nice being both the wife, AND a photographer. It's up to you to give permission...so you can permit him to buy them for you, and then when it comes time for him to get one for himself you can say "what, are you NUTS? YOU JUST BOUGHT ONE!"

I keep reading about the obligatory duck shot, so I'll have to make sure I get close to one with the 50 1.4 to post for you guys once it comes in.

I read all of the messages here about the Nifty Fifty and I was resigned to the fact that I would get one. Luckily, I came across a mint 50mm f/1.4 USM on eBay. I got it last Tuesday. I have not done much with it other than a couple of test shots, because we have had rain a good bit the past few days.

I plan to take it with my for dinner at the family's house Thanksgiving day.

Here is one shot that I did take with the camera. It came out pretty well.

I've had mine for about a week and I'm very, very happy with not only how sharp it is but also the spot-on color and contrast.
