Hi,
In November I spent a week on Rarotonga, which is the main island in the Cook Islands group. The Cook Islands lie in the South Pacific Ocean on the eastern side of the International Date Line, making it one of the last nations on Earth to see the sun set on a given day. I took my 500D with me as well as an EFS 17-55mm f2.8 and a Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6. Below are a selection of images from the holiday, the second being from the Sigma and the rest from the 17-55mm. The Sigma has been a long-time stalwart for me (I've never left my home country without it!) but the 17-55mm is relatively new addition for me. I'm very impressed with it although I do note that the distortion at wide-angle seems fairly significant.

It's still a work in progress but if you are interested the rest of the images from the holiday can be found here
Cook Islands - 2011
Please note that the majority of them were taken not with the 500D but with an Olympus E-PL1 and Panasonic GH1 (Micro 4/3) that I also took with me. They are nice and compact so don't take up too much room in the bag!
Thanks for looking!
