Rf 602 vs rf 603 hot shoe neck question

Just a quick question.... I already own a set of 602's but I just ordered some 603's (I know they won't work together), so the question is whether or not the neck of the hot shoe for the 602 is the same size as the 603?

I ask this because I know one issue of the 603 is the lack of a hot shoe lock and I'm working on trying to find a way to fix that. So far I have the 602 transmitter with two very tight fitting O rings that seems to be working great but I'm still waiting to test this on my 603's when they come in.

If anyone has both can you compare the two for me? It's a very tight hold with the two O rings so I'm hoping it'll be enough to do the trick with a flash mounted up.

Having just received a set of RF 603s (to replace my somewhat aging, but still usable PT-04's) - I'm really curious about this o-ring solution as well, as the lack of hot shoe lock is one of my few complaints on these units (my other is the lack of a 1/4-20 receiver)... I certainly wouldn't feel safe putting even a "budget" speedlite on the RF603's hot shoe without the effort of added support.

It seems to work very well, I've been meaning to get a photo added to this thread however my laptop is at bestbuy getting the screen replaced so I have no real way of doing it at the moment.

Currently I have two somewhat thick O-rings that are stacked on top of each other and the prongs from the hotshoe seem to slide in well.

The main reason why I went this O-rings is because it's made of rubber which have a good amount of friction and when stacked they compress just enough to allow the metal plate of the 602 transmitter foot to slide in, while providing enough holding power to keep it in place.

The only problem is I have the 602 transmitter which has almost zero weight, I need to test it with the 603 with a speedlite on top but i'm still waiting for them to come in from China.

I'd love to see the o-ring solution as well, I'm using black hairbands around the 603 and the on camera flash at the moment which doesn't fill me with confidence.

+1 for pics... I absolutely hate that the RF-603 lacks a locking mechanism.

I just measured one of my 603s plastic neck, they are 11mm wide, 20mm long and 3mm deep
