i've seen a lot of images lately that use the sun to blow out the background, this is my first attempt. It was with my sister out in the backyard using a broken 50 1.8 so please forgive the softness of it. I'm more interested in critique about the PP and composition. Thanks!

yeah i knocked the 50 off my desk shortly after i bought it and it broke into two parts, i managed to put it back together but since then it hits focus about 20% of the time and makes a crazy amount of noise.
I will be getting another lens soon but in the interim its not bad for experimenting.

I like it, but I think a little less sun may have reduced the flare and boosted the contrast on your sister.

I hope you aren't using live view to do shots like this, could easily damage your sensor.
