If your in the market for a tablet and looking at the Blackberry Playbook, right now would be a good time to pick one up from RIM. 16/32/64GB all for $299. Not sure why anyone would buy the 16/32gb version for that price but good price right now.

Also BB Playbook OS 2.0 should be arriving in Feb 2012 with native e-mail support as well as Android App loader. This will allow you to run android apps on the playbook. Right now, there isn't much support for the PB but hopefully at this price, there will be a little bit more support for apps and such on the PB.

This offers applies to US resident's only from the reports I have seen.

The 16gb has been going for 199 last month pretty much everywhere. I bought one through the rim employee pricing program for 99.

That is a good price you got it for. I'm still debating this or ultra book. I found a nice toshiba one for $1200 or pick up the PB for $300. Ultra book has full Windows to do pretty much anything I need to. PB is nice and has better battery life but less power.

Then it stopped right after Christmas and all PB went back to normal pricing and then yesterday, it just dropped. I remember the 16gb for $199 and then 32gb for $299 and 64GB for $399.

It depends on what you are going to use it for. I bought it for reading and surfing the web. As a tablet it is one of the worst out there due to lack of app supports. If I am in the market for a tablet I would go for an android one such as le pan ($200) or sony ($400).

I was mainly looking at a tablet for the overnight stays when I travel and use the internet and videos for the plane ride. Then I started looking into ultrabooks. They do cost more but it's Windows, not Android OS, which isn't a bad thing but a full OS is way better then the others. Android/iOS might have a lot of app but between my iphone and Droidx, I play like 1 or two games every 3 days so games are not my concern at all.

I just don't want to start putting my pictures on the work PC and start installing programs which are not allowed. Just not worth my job to install programs I shouldn't have on my work laptop.

I also through about carrying two laptop but my personal bulky and heavy so overnight stays with carrying two laptops is not something I want to do.

I would be patient and keep an eye out for the HTC Evo 4G View.
I got one a few weeks back for $229. It came brand new with 32GB of memory.
I got the honeycomb update this weekend so I am happy.

Blackberry is increasingly on the decline. I'd pass as there are better options available.

I have one, got the 32GB for $300... Extremely satisfied. The only thing is, the screen sometimes seems a little small, but for it's size can't complain.

That's a good price but I just got a Toshiba Thrive tablet. It has fullsize SD slot, usb and HDMI out. Those are reasons I chose it over others. Cant wait to get it.

With Motorola Xoom you can control Canon camera over USB - can be worth extra $$ to get Xoom

As stated above, with OS2, the android emulator should be available and open the doors to many new possibilities with the Playbook. For the price you can't beat it, and if you use a BB phone, the bridge is a nice feature!
