Both sharp shots Jason...
You really stopped the wings on that Mallard.
It's a bit difficult to tell with the golden sunlight, but your unknown might be a Pine Siskin... if they come that far south?

Thanks for the id's. The mallard was shot with my 70-200 2.8 IS II at 2.8, 1/5000, ISO 800.

1/1600 isn't fast enough to freeze the wings of a mallard based on previous attempts.
