Hey sorry to do this but there are just too many options out there compared to lenses and bodies.... If I want a lens that's 70-200 in length with IS and 2.8 aperture made by Canon, I have one choice, two if I'm old....Bags, though....

I want a bag I can fit all my gear listed in my sig. Easy, but....I want to carry it with my 1D mounted on the 70-200 and the 5D mounted on the 24-70. The flashes and other lenses can just have a compartment or whatever.

Also, I don't want anything that will tear or wear out, I will take it on planes, need space for at least an iPad. I don't mind putting it in the overhead bin if necessary. Also, need to keep all the lens hoods in there, too.

Your best bags are the real luggage ones {Non-Photo} with custom inserts for cameras lenes.
The build quality for them are supper and price is better.
They are convertible also.
Take the custom insert out and put in another insert or bag.
I use Domke inserts in various carry ons like my favorite {Pathfinder}.
It stores gear like you listed and 2 cameras mounted + acc.
Get the inserts you need first build the bag around it at any quality luggage store.

Note - the Pathfinder I use is soft black leather / fabric carryon 18 inch wide.
I got at Tuesday morning closeout for $15.00. Pathfinder is now
out of business and out of stock but there are many other similar bags at similar discount outlets.
It had a $295+ list in its heyday .. The one below is similar and smaller

Hmm, thats interesting, I will consider.....I'd probably have to start checking my clothes, which I normally also carry-on....which is a drawback to a second suitcase. BTW, this bag is not just for planes....

Everything in your signature is going to be very heavy. What kind of bag are you thinking because a backpack would be more comfortable, but it would be difficult to carry all that all the time.

I use a Domke F-7 Double AF with the 720-230 3-compartment inserts for pretty much that, but I don't carry an iPad in it. The Domkes do have D-rings on the back so you can "piggy-back" a small satchel if the iPad's just there for the flight but will be staying behind in your room. You could also use the F1x (same insert) and put the 1D4/70-200 on its side. That's got a commodious back pocket with zipper that I think would take an iPad in a case, although given the acclaimed Domke conformability (which makes them more comfortable and less conspicuous), I'd suggest a fairly well padded slipcase for the iPad. There's also the F-804 satchel, which has a slim pocket between the main compartment and the two front ones; you could treat that like an F7 pretty much.

back pack style would be ok. i have a back pack that i got when i first got a camera so I could take stuff to china a couple years ago but it's too small for my current gear. I also have a rectangular tenba over the shoulder bag that i like but its even smaller....

i just want a big bag that can carry all my stuff when necessary and use a smaller one when it's not. right now I am putting the 1D/70-200 in the backpack and everything else in the tenba.

I will check these options out, thanks!
