Took a hike after Christmas to explore with my new 10-22. Amazing lens when paired with a CPF (Tiffen in this case). Certainly a lot of room to improve with these shots, but overall I'm thrilled with the lens. I think the last image is among the best I've ever taken. Plus the lighting for the last (3) was about an hour or so before sunset.

Toughest part of using the lens was getting whacked in the eyeball with the sun every time I looked through the viewfinder. That darn thing is so wide it seems to pick-up around my shoulder and behind my head.

Appreciate any pointers, esp using the CPF on a ultra-wide. The gradient it gives kind-of ruined the sky in some shots. All PP in LR3.

Thanks,

That lens is magic. I almost got a 70-200, but so happy I went ultra-wide.

I've been so impressed with the CPF this season. I think with the shorter days I'm getting outside when the light is more directional, and the way it brings saturation to the image is stunning. Thanks.

Just be careful with the polarizer...beginners tend to dial in way too much polarization, to the point where sky and water colors take on an unnatural look...the water in your last image is heading that way. The polarizer is a great tool, just be judicious with it...

Ahh... that explains it. I just didn't think to dial it back. Thanks.
