Not the best shots, but found this little fella fascinating to watch. Amazing how they mimic ants. Had me fooled at first, was wondering why an ant was eating a midge. Took me a really close look to realise it was actually an ant mimic jumping spider.

Superb captures.

Would fool me too, the only give away is the binocular vision.

Very cool find. Obviously a jumping spider when viewed from the front, but I never would have guessed it from any other angle. Good job!

great detail! I wonder if I've ever mistaken any for ants--are they about the same size?

Thanks guys.

It was about the same size as similar looking ants. Must admit it had me fooled, and from now on will be looking much closer at lone ants. Do wonder how many I've seen and mistakenly dismissed as ants.
