When I do use a high frame rate, I tend to use short bursts; around 3 frames.

What is more appealing to me with the big-boy is the viewfinder meter, always loved the 1D series metering system.

Elsewhere in 1D3 land; I can't get Safety-Shift to work in AV, otherwise it'll work in TV.

Jason

I don't use the 10 fps much any more because I don't shoot sports like I used to.
Don't use the safety shift so I can't help you there. It takes great photos for only 10 megapixels. I can't crop the photos too much before the quality gets crappy though. My main problem with 35mm is that I don't compose well with the 3:2 ratio. I prefer the square or 4:5... so I always ended up cropping a bit here and there.

What do you have Custom Function 1.8 set to? Option 1 or 2?

#2--this gives me SS in TV, but not AV. #1 does not give me SS.

I just gotta get into the 1D3 more.

That's the same as my 1DIV.

There are so many custom functions and if memory serves me correctly, there is an interaction between cf1.8 and another custom function. Unfortunately, I can't remember what it is though.

There are so many cf settings on these camera's that once I got them all set the way I wanted them. I copied them to an older 4GB memory card that's stashed for safekeeping.

Oh I know. I had my 1D3 serviced and they wiped my settings and I had to spend so much timer trying to figure out getting the settings back to where I had them.

What are you all doing the evening of March 6th 2015? I would love to see you all in Chicago. My exhibit at the Rangefinder Gallery, 300 W Superior, Chicago was moved up to Friday March 6th 2015. These are the images that they selected. They will be approx 17 X 11.5 mounted on 20 X 24 white 4 ply museum boards with white 4 ply over mats in simple black metal frames. Don't think these are what I would have selected but I do like the choices. I sent them 40 images IIRC and these are what they edit it down to.

Still great images, Allen.

March, I may be recovering from hip surgery...yep, the last one is gone.

I will be there in spirit.

Allen, isn't mid March about the time of year that Chicago gets hit with one last blizzard before Spring arrives? ;-)a I don't plan that far ahead, but I'll mark it on the calendar and see how things look in late January.

Jason, sorry to hear about the hip surgery. Hope it all goes well.

Good luck with the surgery and you truly are the bionic man. You've had a complete rebuild over the past few years...Wish you all could be there. :D

Yes we usually get some snow in march but it can also be nice to. The old Chicago saying is if you don't like the weather wait 15 minutes it will change :lol:

Thanks.

Actually, it's no big deal. It was just a matter of time I would get to bone-on-bone, and I'm there now.

Earliest I can see my Hip doctor will be December 29, and I'm assuming a surgery can be scheduled the beginning of March.
