Thanks and congrats to the winners. I really like the colors in the TheRoff Cannon shot.

The back story to my shot of my granddaughter in her first horse riding competition so I don't have any idea of what the scoring is or how they judge. She entered the first five classes and she won two of them and placed in the other three. Took pictures of her with her horse and the 5 ribbons and we thought we were done so her parents and my wife and I left. Her other grandmother stayed with her and they were going to watch the rest of the events for the morning competition. We get a call about 30 minutes later telling us she won the over all for all 5 classes plus the over all for rider and the over all for horse. Quite a first competion..

That's nuts! Glad it wasn't me & my gear though. I guess it did alright for a Nikon.

Mike, congrats on the graddaughter's first competition. Pretty awesome! She may have a great future ahead of her.

Congrats also to the winners of this week's challenge! Loved the shot, Ed. Made me think of some of the young 'uns I've had the pleasure to photograph with the district this year. Great first entry on the cannon shot, Larry!

The third issue of our district's quarterly newsletter just came out, and for the 3rd straight time, I had the cover shot along with a good chunk of the photos in it. Here's a link to the online version of the publication. If you have trouble with that, I can post a link to the pdf version.

They also did a tribute to the class of 2012, and one of my shots was used for its cover. I had several others in that mag as well, and one of the shots of the 12 sets of twins was in there. They used the sillier shot of the kids in here and the local paper ended up using the more formal shot.

After the way this week has started in my real job (very busy with 9 meetings in 2 days), seeing the online magazines brought a much needed smile to my face today! Time to finish eating and get to some of the work I couldn't get to at the office...

Well, my thanks to the judges. Third is a nice honor for this newbie. I appreciate it. I would like to thank the others for the compliments on the Cannon shot. Gettysburg is about an hour from our home and I like to head up there to catch the sunset.

Let me be sure that I understand the process now. I guess I am to be one of the three judges for the next contest?

Twostroke, congratulations on your granddaughter’s equestrian accomplishments. And, Lavanut, that is a very nice publication with some nice photography.
