Hope she is okay! Alexander has conjunctivitis, with a possible ear infection. So he has been out of action today (was up all night). Didn't care that we had to work today, luckily his mother works from home on Fridays!!

Lobster Roll was eeeeeeeeeeexcellent as always :D:D

I'll treat you to one when you get up here!

Just got put on the waiting list at Calumet for one of these along with a 35 1.4 Summilux. I probably wont take delivery until late this year, early next.

A m6 or 7 would save you a lot of $$ for film and plane tickets. :)

I've shoot some with an M6 also M4 years and years ago (loved it). Got rid of the darkroom some years back. Feel in love with my buddies M9 and I seem to be really seeing in B&W lately so I'm going monochrome. So tired of the direction Canon and Nikon are headed. If I don't like it the beautiful thing about Leica is I will get most of the $$$ back if I decide to sell.

Very true! Especially the lenses. Have been out and about w/ my new rangefinder and am enjoying immensely. Unfortunately I think one of my Grafmatics has a light leak.

Shot this a few weeks ago on my Chamonix 4x5 and Velvia 50:

I love large format. Shot a bit with an 8X10 Deardorff some years back.

Kick myself everyday for not keeping at least one of my medium format cameras (Hasselblad 500 C/M). I would probably still be shooting film and still have a darkroom if I had of kept at least one. I had an old Solar 5X7 enlarger with a zone VI cold light head. AAAHH I love the smell of stop bath in the morning....

Light leaks are common and you are the kind of soul who won't sell the back without telling the buyer up front about the issues. I have had my share of leaky film backs.

On Leica I made $2800 on two lenses. I wish I didn't have to sell them but they were not being served to their best with the 5DII and the tax man came knocking.

I still have the 100 APO macro and a d800E on order. I plan on using the d800E on a 4x5 adapter and my Toyo 45A. I am also trying to get some quick load Acros 100 to shoot on the 55 Grandagon. 14mm in 4x5. Should be a hoot for high textured wide shots.

I personally do not like the rendering of Velvia except on foggy mornings in which color is accentuated but does not become surreal. One of my favorite transparency films is Astia.

I mostly shot large format color in a studio situation. I used to shot a lot of zone system B&W large format for my personal work though. I did have a couple of favorite film dev. combos that i really liked. One was a special dilution of HC-110 with Tri X pro 320 and the other was Rodinal 1:50 with t-max 400. Both gave amazing tonal separation in the toe part of the film curve (lots of nice shadow detail) In fact where most film developer combo have a traditional curve in the toe with these two combos it comes up not exactly but more like a straight line.

One recipe is to shoot 320 at 200 and use a diluted HC-110 for extended development to enhance shadow detail without blowing out the highlights. works well. I use stand development with Rodinal 1:100 or 1:200 for high acutance with Acros. That is when I get around to shooting. I have a nice trip up the Oregon coast in a couple of weeks. I plan on getting some time in on the 4x5.

For my 4x5 rangefinder I am just shooting some HP5 in D76 1:1. I will try a different developer eventually. I have some HC110 concentrate but haven't mixed the stock yet.
Joe, I bought the Grafmatic with the possible leak off of EBay with the seller claiming it worked flawlessly. I just shot a few more test shots and will develop tonight or tomorrow to prove the leaks weren't just user error.
