Lightning on Christmas Day

I dont have photoshop and I'm not too good with editing but I did manage to stitch 2 pics together using zoombrowser to get this photo.
I've never taken photos of lightning before. I dont have a tripod so I just balanced the camera on a fence post and packed it with what ever I could find, (which happened to be a squeaky dogs toy :D) to get it pointed in the right direction.

I wish I was better at editing, I'm sure someone else could make this look spectacular.

Very well. I tried some lightning shots earlier this year, and didn't do as well as you did. Of course, here in the desert, you're often the tallest thing around so you don't want to get too close to the storm... ;-)a

Very nice - I wouldn't do anything more than maybe a tighter crop on the bottom one, leaving the 'lone' tree on the left and just a bit of margin to the right
