I like neck / shoulder straps, which I typically hang off the shoulder but occasionally use around the neck. I use the Crumpler Industry Disgrace which is flexible and comfortable.

I do not like the Black Rapid concept mainly because I dislike using my telephoto zooms handheld with the tripod ring attached, and I prefer to leave my tripod quick release plates attached to my tripod rings so that I can mount the lenses quickly. Black Rapid isn't compatible with either of these preferences.

I use a Canon 5DIII and a Sony A7rIII

After trying a whole bunch of different straps, I went to the Think Tank Straps last year and have been very happy with them. They're very small, low profile, and they have sticky stuff on both sides so it doesn't matter which side is up or down when I throw it on my shoulder... which is perfect for weddings where I'm usually juggling 2 cameras.

If you use your straps around your neck more often, or use heavy body/lens combos, then you might want something with more padding.

I have a Crumpler Industry Disgrace.
Its great. I hang my 60d with 100-400L (about 5lb combo) around my neck for hours and
its comfortable.

and its only $30 on Amazon.
I almost got the black rapid RS7 but didnt for the same reason as Jeffrey. I dont like leaving my tripod ring attached to my big zoom.

I only use a wrist strap - It's enough for using the camera hand-held and otherwise the camera is either mounted on a tripod or a mono-pod.

For me, carrying a heavy camera and a heavy lens on a strap around my neck is just uncomfortable and I guess I just never use a camera that way -

If I'm going to be a tourist, I will carry a pocket size camera or my trusty old SX10 IS which is nice and versatile, but still too big to hang around my neck. Fits in my g/f's purse, so that works for me.

I prefer to leave my tripod quick release plates attached to my tripod rings so that I can mount the lenses quickly.

I can't imagine taking a plate off a tripod ring. I have A/S plates on my big lenses and I mounted them with a socket wrench - I'm stunned when I see someone use a coin to attach a QR plate to a lens that costs thousands of dollars - the torque of a long lens assures that a plate secured with the amount of tightness possible to get with a coin WILL come loose! (same with a plate on a camera body).

I know there are strap systems that prevent a camera from flying around and bouncing off your body, but they seem like a pain to use.

The great thing about the CPS strap is everyone loves them so paying $100 a year to be a "Gold Member" of CPS gets real cheap if you sell the strap you get for free - so even though I don't use one, it's my favorite strap!

Wow, what a nice picture! You must have a really great camera!

Crumpler, Industry Disgrace, for neck strap. Super comfy and padded. You can even hook in a small CF/SD card holder.

:D For sure! :D

If I got a neck strap, it would've been the industry disgrace.

I needed a sling so I could pick up my kid without banging him in the face with the camera. The optech utility sling works great for my needs, plus you're buying into a system.

Same here .. I mostly remove the padded part and just use the two smaller straps clipped together as a short wrist strap

I use the Lowepro Voyager strap, quite comfortable on long wedding shoots.
