Maybe that would result in slightly higher grouse, pheasant, chukar, quail, and dove populations. Sounds good to me.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

It may do, it depends how many of them fly into the turbine blades.

As they spend relatively little time flying at the altitude where they would be in danger (doves excluded) you may be in luck.

I'm curious as to whether everyone read the full article -- it definitely puts a different "spin" on the whole conservation/preservation "thing" -- the headline certainly doesn't tell the actual story...

The wind farm at Altamont Pass out here averages 70 Eagle strikes per year.
What I get from the article is the the Feds will allow threein 5 years without the owner paying any fines. After those 3 they will pay for each Eagle killed. This is new(since 2009). The older wind farms are grandfathered in and pay nothing. If nothing else, it's a start. No provisions for any other protected species, just Golden Eagles.
The saddest part about all of it is when the equipment begins to break down, it's too expensive for them to repair and they end up as a non-working eyesore. Plenty of non-functioning wind farms in California.

Regards,
Chuck

Yes, I read it all. It is full of the double speak typical of an article that wants to put the best face on an obviously really bad bill for the eagles. I can not see any person that is on the side of conservation falling for this crap.
