Arriving today (Jan 4th, 2012) at Cleveland Hopkins Intl Airport. Sky was rough, not much to work with. I'll see if I can get the President to come back when it is sunny next time :p

Unfortunately when it's sunny it's backlit this time of year from that position. Nice captures.

OBummer out to spend more money that we don't have on programs that won't work.

Feel free to use any photo's that I post for any purpose that I don't find offensive. I'd be honored to find my pics used on that world wide web thingy....

I've got a sunny one but it was from before my DSLR days.

Those are nice pictures but its a little like comparing zoo photos to safari photos. I was well over a mile away. I would love to have that kind of access, but if i did I would most likely be too caught up in the moment to take decent photos.

Your photos are far superior to mine. These were taken with an outdated little camera. I would love to be able to take photos from a mile away (my 70-200 is my longest lens). I was lucky enough to be friends with the navigator onboard. Once in a lifetime deal.

Thank you, its all in who you know sometimes. The guy next to me in the parking lot was MUCH more into it than I was. I am an opportunist. I go out and see what I can get. It may not be the most efficient way, but for me its almost more about the hunt than the image. He had the scanner listening to the control tower, he knew what runway he would be on, based on wind, etc.... Me, I was driving by, on my way to shoot some birds on the other side of town when I realized why there were cops all around on the freeway. I took a chance and got lucky.

He had his 70-200L and because he knew what to expect he avoided shots like this...

Had I realized that it was gonna be this close, I would have gone with the 55-250, and then had time to change to the long lens while it taxied. I did "practice" on a few other planes that came in just before, but they must have been on the next runway over because they were not nearly as large.

Me (right) my wife below, my buddy and his wife. The guy taking the picture is my golf buddy and the Navigator. I'm sure he probably has a different assignment now though.
