sigma 10-20mm would pair well with your 28-75mm...although many like the 17-50mm range on crop cameras...i like having the longer reach myself...and when i want to go wide, i usually want to go really wide, so i switch to the 10-20mm

Just outside your budget is the Canon 17-40 f4L. I just got one today for $550. Once you find out which one you want throw a WTB ad on the forum here and list your top price. That's how I got my 17-40.

Edit: There was one either on here or over at FM that sold for $500 just this week.

I chose the <28mm f/1.8 (external link)> and have been well satisfied.

Used Tokina 12-24mm would be your best bet for that price range if you want a UW only lens
