Lowest price you can find for these triggers and no having to wait a month or more for the shipping from HK.

I just ordered them for back ups. I have the previous version of them and they have worked flawlessly. I really like them.

The UPS man just dropped these on my doorstep and they are nice.

Here is a pretty useful guide to the current triggers out there. http://www.lightingrumours.com/flash-triggering-guide (external link)

I wanted something good and cheap but not Cactus cheap and was unhappy with the Pixel Soldier lacking features for the price. The Rook being older could do camera triggering and that's a nice bonus. The RF-602 and RF-603 can do it too so there was no reason for the Soldier to lack this feature. Otherwise i would have kept the Soldier and been very satisfied with it.

Not sure about overall reliability of Trigmaster but it feels just slightly less solid then Pixel. Nice thing is that it has an on/off switch which the Pixel does not. An external antenna can also provide more range but i get the feeling it was more about having an appearance similar to Radiopopper. I will play with it and give my opinion in comparisin to the similar priced Soldier.

My biggest consideration is you can buy two Trigmaster Plus kits for $120 and you have four transmitters and receivers. So you don't have to overpay for just the receiver or search the far corners of China on Ebay to find an extra transmitter. For the same price you get one or two receivers at best with other brands of similar build and reliability. There was a $79 deal for the Soldier receiver with two transmitters in December but now it's gone up to $99 which is to much. I would rather have a transmitter, camera trigger and two flash receivers for about the same money. If i decide to keep it i'll be getting two more kits just in case they get harder to find later on.

So far there seems to be two issues one it wont wake my Metz 58-AF1. Also sometimes when you turn on the receivers they don't communicate. I notice someone on Amazon had this same issue and turning them on next to each other solves the communication issue. But being they don't actually bond to my understanding this would defy logic.

The wake feature is supposed to be there according to the website. But it says awaken branded speedlights and Metz is not on that short list. I had no problem with Pixel waking the Metz so hopefully i can find a solution or they will be going back. I can live with turning them on close together but no wake is a total a deal breaker. Trying hard to keep them since everything else and especially the price seems worth it. I can shoot 1/250 no problem and they fired the flash over 50' away through four walls.

Quick update about the issues i had. It appears the pack includes a TX1C and a TX3C which are apparently labeled for different Canon bodies. Aputure's customer service is working to try and find a solution to the problems i was having. I think one of the boxes may be mislabeled or someone mixed up the stock when these were packaged. Maybe the box is actually misprinted but there is no way to know for sure as there is no model printed on the transceivers. My hope is the seller or Aputure will swap the TX1C's for TX3C's if that's what the problem is.

Well don't worry about the numbers the units are the same the only difference is the cables. The support person is aparently not the brightest bulb in the pack. There is only two Canon models Tx1 and Tx3 i'd already explained and linked to the page on Amazon. Yet she asked the model again to be sure i had the right one and afterwards tells me it does not matter since they are the same.
