A few friends got together a little while ago and wanted some final photos before the year is over and the cars are put to bed or sold (the 1 series) :-(

That video was blocked from me seeing it here in the US. Stupid YouTube at it's best! That's why I went with Vimeo. Worth it to pay for a Plus version. I hate YouTube.

Well, it said blocked and then it played fine. Give it a few seconds and it might load on your end like it did mine. It's just a video game clip anyway. It's ot a real car drifting. Watch Top Gear for that kind of stuff. :D

Thanks for the Vimeo link. Yeah, I got directed to that drifting BS as well. That was just the next best thing YouTube could come up with. It's blocked here in the states because of the Music probably.

I think you had too many shots with the owners and friends just standing around looking at their cars. The shot where you jibbed past the wheel and then caught someone's shoes on the edge of the frame, not great. I would have cut it before getting to the shoes and then the legs of someone else.

The jib was cool. One of the best things about a jib shot is that it shows smooth camera movement. And the jib was really smooth, well done. But a lot of your shots were very wide and too far away from the subject. The scene where you boomed up past the hand rails was better, forcing perspective like that is probably the best use of a jib. But just getting closer to the cars would help a lot.If the shot is too wide and nothing close to the lens it makes for a bland jib shot. Force things to move (via the camera moving) by getting close.

It also looked like you were shooting pretty closed down. I saw almost no focus roll off or out of focus stuff. The reason people like the look of these cameras is for that shallow DoF stuff. Might as well just shoot with a camcorder otherwise.

I wish you would have played with that puddle of water and the reflection of the car more, that was cool!

Let me just start off by saying that you guys in the U.K. are very lucky to have 1'er hatches.

Was this filmed with a DV cam? The video only consists of pans and just drives it in circles to a slow Daft Punk song. You need some direction, some meaning...

There were some nice shots in there. The jib certainly takes it up a notch. I liked the choice of music for the pace of the piece. You had a good location as well - solid find.

I find myself agreeing with some of the comments above. The actual content seemed to lack direction and the various shots of various cars made it confusing. It was like sitting in a pub and having someone throw a load of car snap shots on the table. Granted they were nice snap shots but there was no feeling of cohesion between the images.
