I just purchased the Velbon Ultra Luxi F Tripod from Amazon - see here: Velbon ultra Lexi Link (external link)

.

I love the tripod. Amazingly light, small [easily fits into a gym bag or even brief case/business bag], and great height without raising the center column.

However, I can't figure out what quick release adapter works with it. The Velbon provides a list matching tripods to adapter sets but does not mention the Ultra Luxi F.

Is there anyone with the Luxi that can advise what brand/model adapter they are using?

Now Canon 30D user [previous used XT, XTi, and Rebel]

If you love their tripods, try their QR's. I utilize both the QRA635 and QRA667.

635 & 667 only differ in the size of the plate, the base is the same. You can buy the full QR (plate & base) or just the plate.

The bases come with two-axis bezels that can be removed (not sure why you would remove them). I have a base on my two tripods, monopod, and window pod.

I utilize the 667 plates for my cameras (20D's w/grip) and the 665 plates for the L lenses. I'm too damn lazy to remove the plates so I keep the plates attached to their respective lens mounts.

Although not cheap, they are comparable in cost to stroboframe's but the velbons are much sturdier design.
