So after reading some posts and other posts about calibrating my screen I still feel im at square one and with a worse off screen.

Recently brought a spyder 3 pro, pluged it in followed the instructions and it left my screen with a horrible green tinge.

The first shot is of an edited pic from a uncalibrated machine.

look into the corners and around the ground/dust areas. they look normal as they should right?

now this pic is from the recently calibrated machine, was taken from my tablet so sorry for the quality.
but once again have a look at the ground/dust areas.

you can notice how the green tinge is there?
that's the result of my calibration.

another pic of Ps, with a 18% gray cloth hanging infront.

Even Ps screen doesnt look normal gray to me. I know it hard to tell from these images but you can notice it.
One more pic from my camera no editing done just cropped in DPP, to me it has a green tinge which is really noticible in the dark grays/blacks.

This calibration tool is driving me insane can someone help me?

my monitor is a dell 27" ips it has enough ambient light falling into the screen, its not in dirsect sunlight nor do I have a lamp pointed onto it. I have done a test at night with only the monitor on and still it came out looking green.
settings are on sRGB, and the calibrator is in default mode.
I have tried different setting all over the shop and still nothing good comes out.

I have no idea on what to do...........

I'm going to eat some chocolate

Well, looking at a digital photo of your display is sort of difficult to assess what is going on, so I can't really comment on the specific issue you are having. However, the calibration and profiling of your display depends on a number of things, including the hardware "puck" (the Spyder 3 you are using) as well as the software that reads the data gathered by the puck, and the settings you prescribe for the calibration.

If you want to experiment with another software solution, consider the free and open source DispCalGUI:

It may be a little cumbersome at first, with all of the options presented to you, but it may give you better results.

Maybe this is due to the ignorance on my part but why after calibration, your screen has a pinkish tint center that is gradually feathered out to a greenish tint at the corners? Perhaps google around to see if this is a common problem with that particular model of the Dell monitor?

Well late last night I was Googling the problem and it seems that it is a major problem, not only with this model but many others from the DELL range specially the 24".
So many people have complained but DELL don't seem to fix the problem.
I could send it back, then I may receive yet again another ****ty screen, but the thing that gets me is before I calibrated the screen there was no green tinge on the screen. The screen was vibrant and a little to bright but that was all. After the calibration is when the green tinge appeared.

I have the screen set in 'custom mode' now and with RGB set at different levels I can still slightly see green in my black and whites.
Maybe it is something I'm going to live with ? I don't know..
I do wish I found out this before hand because then I would have spent the extra money on a Eizo monitor.

I found this last night, its for the 24" but still the same problem.

Sorry to hear that mate. That certainly doesn't help Dell's reputation.

I'm with cfcRebel - the image you have posted looks to be tinted Pink, not Green.

BTW I have the Dell u2410 and it is spot on. Have read about some issues that they occasionally have but mine is 100%.

I have written to dell in the past days so I'm now waiting to see what the out come will be,
but yes you are right it has a red tinge in the middle but also a green tinge on the outer edges.

I have been trying to use it but it gets frustrating, specially trying to edit colour prints...
