All the whinging and complaining about image quality and performance. Were photographers so dissatisfied with film cameras or is it just because there's now a world wide forum to complain on and cameras offer us so much more, there's more to complain about. It seems the more some get, the more they want. Maybe it's just human nature.

I learnt to stop giving a **** about what random people on the internet say. I think my quality of life has improved by 15% ever since.

yes it makes you wonder sometimes. I just read a site where the new Nikon D4? has been released and all I could think was about the fact that Canon and Nikon have got so smart, they release cameras more often just to rake more money from the gearheads pockets and it seems some people these days are never happy and believe upgrade will make them happy, when they don't get want they expect from their photos, the complaining begins

Very few "photographers" are dissatisfied with their cameras....most of the whining comes from gearheads more interested in shooting pictures of the boxes the camera came in and test patterns. Digital cameras surpassed film cameras some time ago....of course, most the complaints come from people that never shot film.

The complaining usually - more than often comes from pixel peepers, gear heads. The usual lens is soft, buffer is not fast enough, why is my ISO not in the 1,000,000,is IS II better than IS I, should I get a 24-70 than a 24-105....I can go on and on BUT the real reason people complain is they don't have a LIFE, they spend more time calibrating their equipment than taking photos outside.

I dunno about that. Lots of people with more money than brains buying top level gear....no clue how to use it, no clue about basic photographic techniques and principals....somehow the gear sucks because it didn't come with an instant Ansel Adams or Annie Leibovitz button. You only have to spend a few minutes reading the gearhead forums to see some stellar examples. One of my favorites was the guy proclaiming his 24-70 was soft because he couldn't handhold a 1 second exposure and get a sharp result.

...well, this is where the whinging complainers meet the newborn self-appointed "experts" and discover they were made for one another. Once they get going, nobody can stop them, then each has 32 kakadoojillion of their ilk they can quote, refer to and/or drag into the fray. It's exponential.

It is certainly human, no other animal does it, but I certainly don't wish it on Nature. :D

I don't recall reading that one, I bet the replies were priceless...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Way too much of this, even though being a gearhead forum. I would add that there seem to be quite a few people that demand the ease of a P&S but, for some reason, won't use P mode or whatever it is called.

Some gear is better suited than other, for some shooters, but at the end of the day, it all gets the job done.

Much depends on whether you prefer the process of taking a picture or getting results.

Ok, I'll quit bitchin....

Anybody should be able to get a 1 sec steady handheld image, if I can do this standing out in the open handheld, 1 sec is a cakewalk!

I'm not sure I would agree with that, certainly not for b&w.

The biggest complainers are the darn chart/ruler shooters and pixel peepers!! It's the worst habit one could pick up as a photographer!! :p
