Last night one of my fellow officers was shot and killed while trying to serve a warrant. Five other officers were shot and wounded, most of them with very serious injuries. Worst night in my law enforcement career. I worked and was friends with these officers. I feel like crap!!!

a little odd though. six officers hurt by one gunman?

Always do right, this will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

So very sorry to hear that Christian, no words can express the sorrow of losing a brother officer, and very few people will ever know how you feel. The bond between fellow police officers (as with firefighters) is strong, many say even stronger than family. You, and the families of the other officers will be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

That's horrible news. I am so sorry for you, for the other officers, for the fallen officer's family and friends... I hate hearing stories of fallen police officers and firemen. Such honorable people, far more honorable than many in this world, to be willing to sacrifice so much for the well-being of others.

Excuse me? This is a police job you respect? And what's that exactly? Enforcing traffic laws or serving warrants, both are equally dangerous. An officer doesn't choose the day, the day chooses him. The job should get respect no matter what he/she is doing. I'm one month away from starting my law enforcement career. It's been a long road to get here and it's so tiring to hear that **** from people. You don't like the speeding ticket BS? Then don't speed. If you're just saying that because that's your general assumption, then well, pity.

:( I am very sorry to hear it; and while I am half a country away from Utah, I'd like to say thank you for keeping us safe.
Reminds me of an incident that took place just a few miles from our house:
http://articles.cnn.com …-state-police?_s=PM:CRIME (external link)
And yeah, I know noone likes a speeding ticket, but as a person who has just started driving, I say, don't break the law , and you don't have to worry. I know the speedometer can creep up accidentally, but by handing out those tickets, they make it a safer place for all of us.

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."
