Does anyone here have any info on Canon's 'Pro' program? I've heard about it from friends and can't find any info about it online. I've heard they offer benefits to professional photographers who shoot canon... does this sound familiar to anyone or was i fed a line of bull??? any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

John

I've looked at it, and while the advantages are not a big deal, I tought to apply, the minumum requirements are not a problem (2 DSLR bodies - minimum 20D - and 3 L lenses) and being free, anything that comes out of it would be nice.

I'll let you know what happens next, I just completed my online registration.

I am a member of CPS.

The only really useful benefit that I've found so far is faster turnaround when the cameras are handed in to Canon for service.

The US version is much tougher to join from what I understand. I easily qualify for the European CPS, but don't for the US version despite having 3 DSLRs and 5 L lenses along with an XL-2 and 2 red stripe lenses for that.

Apparently the biggest requirement for the US version is the 50% of your income from photography requirement. I suspect I will never manage that being retired military.

I've spent two hours Google'ing on CPS USA and could not find a thing about Canon Professiona Services in the USA, then I saw the above quote. Where is this requirement stated?
